It is a great water vacuum . The powernozzel is mage by Wessel Works (Germany) same one used on Miele , Robo clean and proaqua the last two also water vacs I own .The Ocean blue is a perfected D4 in my opinion. It does a great job and I use it a good bit . I think the company had some trouble and may be out of business ? I am not sure though . I also own a newer two speed Rainbow E series but my favorite Water Vacuum is a Pro Aqua which is 100% made in Germany it out cleans a lot of vacuums. I am going to get a Hyla GST once I could find a great buy on one. The Ocean Blue is a great Water Vacuum if you ever get a chance buy one !

If you look closely it is a direct connect pn. I was also wondering about parts and service though. I would also love to try the new aquamate for the rainbow. Looks much better. |

Well I went back but it still looks like I see a pig tail from the hose to the machine. Did you notice the way you store the power cord? |

Yes it has a pigtail at the machine end. I thought you were talking about the wand end. |

Chris, if you look closer, you can tell that it's actually a copycat of a Rainbow D2 canister- they have just changed the top of the motor & how the handle is designed. One really good clue is, just look at the dolly- nearly identical, except they added the posts for the tools to rest on the dolly.
Also, if you download the owners manual & read it, if you look at the waterpan, it LOOKS identical to a Rainbow's- however, they changed the hose connector slightly, so that it twists into place rather than use a metal clip. However, if one wanted to, a Rainbow waterpan could always be substituted if you wanted to use a Rainbow hose & tool set. So, I think they waited till the patents on the Rainbow D2 expired, & then made just enough modifications to avoid being sued. I personally like the powerhead, wand & hose supplied though. The color may not match, but at least they include a premium powerbrush like the Wessel-Werk, & don't cheap out like Thermax has done by using the Hoover knockoff, the Centec CT110. Rob |
