Thank You Very Much!

Damien,

Seeing the pictures, what I notice from them is that the bag on this is not original, and neither is the decal on the front of it, and nor is the Adjust-O-Rite plug (the original red one was replaced by a dark blue one).

Originally, since the model 608 is a "Heavy Duty Commercial" model, its bag (same dark blue color) would have read "Royal" (5x) with the crown logo and duty rating ("COMMERCIAL") amid red squares (top and bottom respectively).

The decal on the front of the machine (below the Adjust-O-Rite plug) originally had the Royal marquee (silver logos on black), with "HEAVY DUTY COMMERCIAL" below that (black on silver).

I take it this machine has a 5.4 amp motor given the mfg. date of March 1987 that you confirmed to me when I had months earlier asked you about it.

Yes this machine has a 5.4 amp motor, the original adjust-o-rite is red which I still have but does not match, the original bag or the bag that I got with my unit as a 608 set up (the original set up) was a genuine royal shake out bag which I still have but usually use a generic s/o bag with it's clamp(when I use one as a shake out).

1977 Royal 608 - An Idea As to What Yours Had Looked Like

Damien,

Would you happen to have any pictures of what your '87 608 had looked like the day you first got your hands on it (before modifications)?

The link provided takes you to a video of a late '70s Royal 608 which still looks all original.

~Ben

I wish I did but maybe I can put It back the way I had it when I first got it for a picture.
I'll see what I can do.
