Thank you, Fred, for adding this one and in such a print-worthy size!
Being a black & white with one color I wonder which magazine(s) it appeared in. This is only the second full page ad I've ever seen for the Model 87 electric hose Constellation. It would have appeared sometime in 1959/early 1960 as production of the 87 ended on April 4 1960. Hoover didn't make a big deal about the 'Under the Thumb' hose switch feature as they probably thought it would be standard on their vacuums for years to come. As we know, for various reasons the electric hose was discontinued on the Fawn coloured Model 88 that followed in 1960, such a convenience not to be seen again for many years. Excitedly hoping for more information I searched the patent number shown - it is for the Air Mail envelope. LOL I've printed the POD for Davy's Vacuum Binder but Fred, would it be possible for you to email me the original full rez scan, that I might print one for framing and hanging on the wall beside Constellation Towers?
