I recently found one of my dream machines on Ebay, a Royal Pony with the Manta Rey Power Nozzle. I wasn't really all that interested in the vac, but I really wanted the power nozzle that went with it. It's a really neat looking nozzle I think. I first saw it when visiting Rick Asquith. I didn't know much about it but I was told it was really rare. So I saw this Royal Pony on Ebay with that nozzle and I just had to have it. I really do like it and it appears to be a really good power nozzle. The housing is all metal and is pretty heavy for a power nozzle. I believe this came out with their 75th anniversay machines as I saw a Youtube video of one that stated that. Also, mine has remnants of the 75th anniversary sticker. Any information about this nozzle would be greatly appreciated. The model number is 597 if that helps anyone. I heard from several people that is uses the upright brush roll from a Royal. I noticed on the Youtube video it was being demonstrated with a Royal model 231 canister so I would like to know if it came with the Pony or the 231 or both? And about what year was the nozzle made? I'm thinking around 1980 if it came with the 75th anniversary vacuum.

major congrats

that is one of my dream machines too
yes the pony and 231 canister had this power nozzle
it was an option for both
before it, they used the L shape rugmaster that air way also used
later royals used filter queen nozzles, then panasonics

Great find Chad! You don't see many of those around as you know. I love mine, it's probably my favorite power nozzle, design wise, grooming wise, and the sound, very smooth.

That is a beautiful machine Chad. I have never seen a power nozzle like that either. I just wonder who made it??

If it uses a Royal made brush roll, I'll bet it cleans very well! Nice find!

I have the 597 power nozzle and love it as well! But no matter what, every belt I put on it slips right off the pulley for some reason. I don't understand why..But I have 2 Royal Ponys like your's that are awaiting restoration..That is a beautiful machine though! Congratulations!

That PN kind of reminds me of the 500-sanitronic series kirbys.
