Just thought other British Kirby collectors/owners would find this link useful, I have bought one myself for fitting into my G3 next week... :)

Yeah it's used, but compared to £70+ for a new one, it's a sensible price!!! :)

(once I get the G3, I'll be able to find out what the 2 extra pins are for on the UK version, seeing how the US version has only 2 pins, as opposed to 4 pins)

AFAIK, the UK version is a two-pole switch. The US only needs the line connection switched, not the neutral, whereas (again, AFAIK) you guys need both of the line wires in your system to be switched for safety.

Well, when I get the G3, I'll be able to find out, cos the old one is included and already opened... :)

The UK models have a condenser in the base, I always assumed that was what the extra two pins were for, but I don't know yet, I will know next week... :)

Got the switch assembly today, one of the pins seems pretty wobbly (2nd one from the top in that pic earlier, marked as R (as in, B-R-Y-G)), dunno if that's normal, won;t find out until next wednesday though when I can take a look inside the G3's already dismantled switch... :)

Can't wait to get my G3... :D
