I just watched the video manual for the Ultimate G in a prior thread and I'm confused. I thought the difference between them was the UG DE had the two speed switch and the Ultimate G did not. The video manual showed the two speed switch on the Ultimate G. What is the difference between these two models? I'm ashamed to say that I'm not up on the G series machines since I left Kirby before they were introduced. I have a G4, but I've never attempted to disassemble it, and am looking forward to unboxing my new to me Diamond edition when health permits.

You're right Joe, despite what might be in the video. The UG and Diamond were the same but the Diamond had the 2 speed delicate switch as well as a Diamond pattern on the bag and handle. I have never seen a UG with the 2 speed switch. When you get around to opening the box, you will love your Diamond.

The Ultimate G Diamond was also the first model to use the polypropylene ARF HEPA bags, which of course revolutionized the Kirby's filtration.

I suspect that video was made before the Diamond G went into full production, but they needed to get the video produced so they just used an ultimate G bag on a pre-production Diamond G.
