Hey, all, I went to see a friend out of town over the weekend and before heading home I stopped in a couple of thrift stores and landed this beauty. Some Info--If I recall correctly this is a Singer "Golden Glide"? What year was it made, I'm thinking early to late 1960's, also are bags readily available, I'm thinking Eureka bags will work? Here's a picture of it. After replacing the cord and cleaning it up it works really good--has surprisingly a lot of suction!

Nice find Nathan...

Seems it could be as old as 1959 - see vintage ad below...

There are 3 different models of Golden Glide

the C2 - 1958-59 - came with a cardboard tool kit - optional floor brush

the C3 - 1959-62 - same but with floor brush included

the C5 - 1962-64 - plastic tool kit that clips to top of machine, floor brush included

from the look of it I'd say that was probably a C3 as the handles on the machine are slightly different on the C5 and the hose handgrip is different on the C2

I've included a picture of my C2 for reference (I'll post the C5 in the next posting)
Doug

Mine is like that also, it's a C-2. It will take Eureka bags but they are NLA.

Hey Sam:

Isnt that the C3 parts. The box has room for the floor brush. It should say C3 on the front.

Nice find Nathan! I've seen one of these on eBay. Albeit, VERY dirty and it only had the canister and hose. Nothing else. Nice find!

More Info on my Singer

Hi Guys I checked the bottom plate of my Singer. It is a model C-2, Serial Number 179232. So, It is probably a 1958 or 1959 model. I still cannot get over how good of shape it is in, with hardly any scratches on the body and absolutely no rust anywhere. I just got the original hose, and a small curved wand and the rug tool with mine, I paid $5.00 for it. All in all not too bad.
