After 14 attempts "failed due to unknown error" and 338 minutes, I finally got the Electrolux Ultralux video uploaded. If anyone knows of a way to make the Youtube uploading experience at least TOLERABLE, please let me know! Thanks!

Hey Bobby - how big is the file you uploaded? That does sound a ridiculously long time, although I see it is 11 minutes long; mine are generally under 5 minutes in length, and rarely take longer than 30 mins or so to upload, even in Hi Def. Do you run the video through some editing software before you upload it, or just upload the file straight from the camera?

Great video, btw - I'm always impressed when people are able to talk so naturally on camera, I could never do that! I'm impressed the Ultralux has a HEPA filter; I wouldn't have guessed it would have one.

Jack it was 861 MB, and I uploaded it from the memory card. I don't run it through any editing software first... I don't know how to do all that stuff. I tried to download and use any video converter and super c, but neither of them worked for me. I read that if you change it to an FLV file, it will upload faster, but I think that's a myth!

Thanks... I just have to watch saying Uhm too much! It annoys me when people do that, and yet I find myself doing it. I'm sure you'd do great if you made a talking video, if you goofed up, everyone would overlook because of your accent :o)

What did you think about the noise level?

861MB?!

That's your answer right there - that's a HUGE file! You might want to look into using a simple programme to edit and compress your videos, like Windows Movie Maker - it's pretty intuitive to use, and you can make the file-size much more practical.

As far as sound-levels go, I see what you mean about the brushroll motor - although they generally seem to be higher in pitch than the suction motor.

Oh - I forgot to add, it may help a little if you move the file from the memory card to your PC, then upload it from the PC...

Good job on the vid and the vacuum! You brought it back to life! I know what you mean about lights and blowing up bags. I had the same feeling back in the '60s when my aunt bought a Dial-a-Matic, thought it was boring. I like the curve on the front of the Lux power nozzle, almost looks like they were going to put a light on it.

Thanks guys. Jack, thanks for the advice about the size... I didn't realize that was a crazy size.... I'll google some directions for using Windows movie maker to compress files, maybe that will make things easier for me.

Rick, I agree.... I thought that curved area on the power foot would have been the perfect place for a light! It looks like they were going to do it and changed their mind at hte last minute!

Bill, thanks. I seem to be getting a little more comfortable with each video I make, so that's a good thing... don't think I'd do as well in front of a live audience :o)

Joe... The Dyson is great for catching spiders because I can see them and make sure they are not moving, BUT by the time I undo the cord and fight the telescopic wand, the spider has usually disappeared! Lately, I've been using it to pick up powder... I always have baby powder on the floor in the bathroom and bedroom.... and I know I shouldn't do it with any bagless vacuum, but doing it this way saves the me from clogging the bagged machines, and I can wash the cyclones and blue pre-filter when needed. If the motor breaks because of it, no big loss.... I'll get a Dyson I like more instead (which would be ANY other Dyson!).
