Ok, so I tried to open up my PN-2, but found that once I got the aluminum plate off the bottom (that covers the brush roll), it was completely inapparent what to do next in order to remove the plastic cover. There are no other screws to remove. Anyone familiar with taking these apart?

It should be that those two screws go all the way from the steel plate on the bottom, through the plastic section - and screw into the aluminum cover. Pretty sure of this, it might just be that it has been together for so long it may take a little persuasion.....

Yeah, I just took mine apart - that's all it is. The bottom plate needs to be pried off. You'll see there is a "clip" that helps hold that on.

It's not a separate clip, it's part of the bottom plate.

Thanks!

Ok, I was able to open it up...I just wanted to be sure there wasn't a special trick involved.

Now that I've got it open, it's FILTHY inside! Now I can clean it, lube the bearings, and put in a new brushroll and it'll be as good as new.
