For the second time, I have ordered a new hose on eBay for my Model L vacuum cleaner and have received the wrong hose. The connector doesn't insert into my vacuum because it has two unmovable tabs on either side that will only insert into the 1205 and newer cleaners.

The sellers list the hoses as being able to fit the older Electroluxes (listing them compatible with the G, E, L, etc.) however they obviously do not know these vacuums well enough to be selling them.

Can anyone refer me to a dealer who knows the difference, and will sell me the correct hose? Any info. would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Brian

are you wanting a hose that has the curved wand?

Yes

Yes, I would like a hose with a curved wand. (The hose I want is a non-electric one as well). :-)

You just need the plain non electric hose. The hose you purchased is the electric hose. We had that same issue today at the store- someone purchased an electric hose from eBay and they had a model L machine. It will not fit at all. The non electric hose should be available under $30 on eBay.

This is What I Was Sent

Here is a picture of the non-electric hose I was sent for the Model L. The two arrows point to metal tabs that only allow the hose to be inserted into a 1205 or newer machine. The attachment for the L does not have those tabs. This hose was advertised as being compatible for the Model L, however, it isn't compatible.

If you want to get rid of that, I may be interested.

I have an electric hose for my Model L, but it has the pigtails on both ends.

Yes, that is an internally wired electric hose that will fit the last 1205, Golden Jubilee, Super J, Olympia, Silverado, Silverado Special, Diamond Jubilee, Marquis, Grand Marquis, Legacy, Ultralux, Diplomat, Epic6000 & Epic6500.

I *believe* (but am not sure) the two extra "tabs" are where the electricity from the motor connects to the wire leads inside the hose.

At any rate, the two extra tabs do mean this hose will not fit the Model L, early 1205, or, obviously, any models previous; nor will it fit any models from the Renaissance and late because the hose connector was drastically changed.
