Fred and Joe came down from Milwaukee today and we made busy with my collection. Thanks to Tom, I decided to hang up my Dial-a-Matics, so I could have some more floor space, mainly for so vacuums could be run and played with.
We hung 21 vacuums on the wall... the space is now very open and there's plenty of room to play!

down the middle...

Now there's tons for room to get stuff out and run!

Fred has the rest of the pictures, so there are more to come!

HooverLand and its proud owner!

Posing with the new arrangement!

What a great idea! It looks really nice that way! Nice to have some additional room on the floor for when you want to entertain friends (or yourself for that matter!) with the vacuums.

P.S.

A BIG thanks to Joe... for prettymuch doing all of the work of measuring and figurin' out the spacing! (Math isn't my strong suit..)

:)

Wow Jeff, it looks great! It looks like You and Joe and Fred were really busy! The colors are just amazing.

Thanks Robert!

Everything turned out really nice, and is still accessible too.
The colors look great as well!

Thanks to Fred and Joe for their help, especially Joe for doing all the measuring so that all the cleaners hung up evenly!

Colours!!!

Hi Jeff

What a cool set-up, do you use hooks on the wood?? and are there extra supports (hooks)on the bases of the vertical ones or do they hang just from the handles etc??

Mike,

Looks great Jeff!!

I saw a DAM in blue with a design on the front (similar to the red one you have hanging up on the wall) at a thrift store in Aurora the other day. They wanted $25 for it. If you want, I can go back and check to see if they still have it.

Jeff....

Is that a U4186 Senior I spy lurking behind the cordreel Pencrest???

:)

Post# 202-8/28/2006-12:23 ||| hoover1060 (Roselle, Illinois)

Thats sure is Seamus!

That row is some of my overseas machines: 638, 6525C, Aussie turbo-lark, and U4186 Senior.
The 638 and the U4186 came from Kevin Cox.
The Aussie machine came from John Grieve

Um Jeff.....

Where are the Connies? I can't remember if you have canisters in your collection.

You do have a very nice collection and its very nicely displayed. Gotta get out to see it sometime.

Joe

Post# 219-8/28/2006-19:34 ||| Dial-a-nap (Omaha)

WOW!! What a difference it makes - now there's room to play with the machines and enjoy!

And...more room for major appliances ;-)

Post# 221-8/28/2006-19:57 ||| Hoover1060 (Roselle, Illinois)

Joe,

I have only two connies, a 444 and a tilted 843. I may have a new one later this week though!
I have a handful of canisters split between the two rooms, not more than 10, they just don't do it for me.
Yes you definately need to come out here some time and see this for real!

Greg,
Now we will have room to run machines next month for the gathering. I am very much looking forward to it!

Post# 224-8/28/2006-20:28 ||| Henrydreyfuss (Toledo, Ohio)

That room makes me smile :)

Post# 225-8/28/2006-21:19 ||| myhooverco (North Canton, OH)

WOW!

Jeff...looks great! It is amazing how much space you save by hanging them up...did you remove the handle spring? It looks like you did since they all lay flat. It looks like you have a lot of new floor space too. Is your new canister going to be a "new" Connie? Long Live Hooverland!!!!!

Oh...here is my DAMs all in a row.

Jeff your vacuum "playland" looks fantastic. I love the way you have all the colors set up. Joe sure did a great job and getting it all perfect!! It will be so much easier and more fun to use your wonderful collection. Terry

Post# 227-8/28/2006-21:42 ||| Convertible68 (Bellville, TX)

Congratulations Jeff, the new arrangement really turned out great, especially with those different colors! I hope to one day see Hooverland in person...it must be ten times more spectacular than the pictures show!

Post# 228-8/28/2006-21:54 ||| Hoover1060 (Roselle, Illinois)

Please note...

Tom's and my DAMs are hanging left to right oldest to newest...I just noticed the color pattern is the same!
Thanks for the idea Tom!

Mike: I used 1X3 boards from Home Depot in 8 feet lengths. I anchored them to the wall studs using 2.5 inch deck screws. From there we hung one cleaner and then measured out the rest(Joe figured this part out for me) then we hung the cleaners using the same deck screws.
I am amazed at how much S P A C E is in that room now(the room size is 15 x 19)

Austin and Corey, you guys are welcome anytime!

Well, I suppose I could squeeze in a few more... I really have everything I want already though...

I think Hooverland is the "Best Theme Park" ever! I'm glad I had a chance to visit it at the Chicago Convention!

Wow, what a collection!!

Jeff:

I am absolutely without words (a rarity for me)! That is the most colourful, fabulous collection I have ever seen!

You definitely do this forum and all vacuum collectors proud!!

Hooverland....no, it should be Hooverworld!!
