New to this group. I have a 1952 electrolux Lx with the auto eject. The auto eject is the one that has no dial. My prob is that it works too well. and ejects the bag if the suction is interuped for a very few seconds is there a way to adjust this model or does anyone know where I can find a workind dial upgrade for this vac. thanks

Hi John,

Does your machine have a provision for the "Basement and Attic Key" that was used to delay the ejector? That would probably be your best bet, for originality.

I do not know where that is can you tell me what to look for.

Dear Charles Richard thank you for the kind words, but I'm the winner here. I have a model LX in perfect condition except that it has a front cover assembly with that dial. This way I can help a club member and put my Electrolux in it's original condition. I guess it's a win/win situation.

But you are right about the club, we are all here to help each other. As I recall you did the same things for my back in the early days. A lot of the ads that I publish came from you and the club needs to know that.

This is far more than a group of people who collect vacuum cleaners, the bottom line is we care about each other and share. The vacuum cleaner just happens to be the common factor.

I have an LX that I have looked at and their is no key under
the cord/plug plate at the back of the cleaner. The bottom id plate
says LX, the logo is yellow background with red lettering on the sides! Then looking on the bottom of the cleaner there is no dial, but
there is leaver on bottom left under the chrome face plate, where the hose connects. The arm behind the bag that pushes
the bag out is getting harder to push back into the cleaner.
What else would you suggest to retard the popping of the bag?

I've got my Mother's LX 1954 Electrolux, complete with almost all of the Original Attachments, with the Chrome Name Insignia and the Attachment Caddy on the Top of the Vacuum Cleaner. It has both the Control Dial and the Key for adjusting the Volumn of the Bag, before "Popping" out. It hasn't really ever given either of us any problems, with the Bag "Popping" out ahead of time. I have fooled around with the Key once in a while, but without knowing what it was there for, until I looked at the info a while ago Posted above. It didn't seem to make any difference in how full the Bag is, before "Popping" out.

It looks like I'm going to have to do a bit of training on the workings of the Electrolux model LX. Before I do let me say that I don't think there is any way to slow down the ejection process other than with the key or the dial in the front cover assembly. Now on to the training session.

As to the leaver under the suction port, that's what opens the front cover giving you access to the bag chamber. Lets move on to "the arm behind the bag--," that's the 'ejector.' Simply remove the bag, they were called "Wrappers" back in 1952. Take a small bit of Vaseline and grease the track then reach under the left runner, locate the little tab and push it in. Make sure your hands are clear of the front cover! If greased that ejector can toss the bag half way across the room. Also, for those of you who like to watch the machine eject, make sure the tabs on the hose are not pointing upward (the tabs used to remove the hose.) These little tabs greatly hamper the bags speed and can stop it completely causing the bag to rest on the underside of the front cover.

If you have a model LX with the red lettering on a yellow background then treasure it you have an original.

it never occurred to me to give my LXs a lube job! hahaha!!! But Alex, it does make perfect sense. I'm gonna have to try that, as all of me LXs (three of them, each one different) have sluggist ejectors.

Note to the person asking for a key, no you do not need that with the front cover that Alex has offered to trade with you. You only need the key for the model without the ejector regulating control.

I have the first model and it dose not have a regulation
control. So now what do I do??
