Post# 101-8/27/2006-00:37 ||| Compactc9 (Denver, Co)

My favorite has to be the Compact. I love the shape of the body.

Post# 102-8/27/2006-00:38 ||| Swingette (Texas)

right now, it would have to be the Hoover Heavy Duty #913. its one of the first cleaners i got on eBay. from its aggressive shape/form, to its fabulous bag design, to its distinctive sound, it really stands alone. its not the best Hoover design, and its not an excellent commercial machine, but its SPECIAL!

And now, for the best part of our new site.

My favorite is Electrolux, but I love hoovers. Just dont have the room to collect both. My wife uses a kirby G4.

Difficult Question

But - if I had to choose one (God Forbird!!) This would be it. The Lux Model G.

Post# 113-8/27/2006-08:34 ||| Converto-skip (Lafayette, Louisiana)

I guess I'm like Reggie the compact at 2 and a half our neighbors compact c4 turquiose did it in for me and another neighbors Kirby model 561 also did it in for me. But I love all of my vacs, i use them all. I have every model of the compacts made from the c1 to the c9. Reggie on your pictures on the top shelf that 2 tone blue canister is that a Kenmore?

Although flawed...

I can't help but love the Dial-a-Matic. It's such a beautiful machine. And it had so many great ideas going for it. Not the best vacuum...but my personal favorite.

my favorite....

Here is a picture of my favorite vacuum. It is a Hoover model 719 from Nov. 1968 to Nov. 1971. This model is the only model that I have duplicates. My mom put one of these on layaway in early 1971 so that when she got married in June of '71 it was paid for and would be ready to use and keep house. Unfortunately, it quit working when I was about 13 and was not allowed to keep it! So now I am making up for that as I have 6 in my collection. This model was seal griege and delft blue and had a good run being a popular model. The "square" hooded 1070 was considered the top line model in these years so the humble 719 was sold as a "B" line model. My earliest vacuum memories are with this model. My mom liked hers but hated the tools...later she liked her DAM much better, and I still have that one!

My favorite vacuum in my collection is my hoover model 63!
The best and the most beautiful hoover

My Favourite.....

The 1st Dirtsearcher Junior 1354- the 1st cleaner I remember being used(well my mums 1354A to be exact!!). The 1354A had the 4 position height adjuster and a plasticised cloth bag in the same blue as the front cover. Sadly this went to a neighbour down the road :(. I do have one but its packed away and this was handier for a pic lol ;)

P.s on the right is my Pastel blue Bell System 500 :)

My runner up is the Hoover 63. Very excellent vacuum!

I would have to say "the Kirby" family-used one as a child-like the throaty "roar" the machine makes-and WOW--does it shake the floor!Next would be Royal metal direct air uprights.

Post# 264-8/29/2006-18:15 ||| Convertible68 (Bellville, TX)

While my all-time favorite is the Eureka 1400 series since we used to have one (I do have 2 "KMart Eurekas" which are similar), my new favorite has to be the 1961 Hoover Convertible Model 68...which I created my username after! The 1958 Hoover Convertible Special Model 31 has to be a close tie, I will admit. Up until now I didn't have any "deluxe" Convertibles, but after running this one, I didn't know what I was missing!

Lights on!

In case some of you are wondering, there is a Model 70 bag currently on it. Why are the original 68 bags so few and far between?

Post# 312-8/30/2006-15:46 ||| Vintagehoover (Woking, Surrey, England)

I have 3 favourites:

Hoover Model 800
Hoover Model 450
Hoover Junior 370

I think Hoover's pre-war styling reached it's peak with this model range.

Post# 319-8/30/2006-18:31 ||| Hygiene903 (Galion, OH)

It's hard to pinpoint one favorite, so I'll name a few: Electro-Hygiene 903, 966, and 230, Hoover 28 and Constellations, Lux XXX, Auto-E, and G, and Kenmore Torpedo Tank. I currently own all of these except for the Kenmore, Lux XXX, and 230 Hygiene. I could go on, but I'll stick with these.

My favorites...

Electrolux Models G and L, and Marquise. You can clean the whole house with just the one vacuum's PN and various attachments.

Post# 328-8/30/2006-21:45 ||| Converto-skip (Lafayette, Louisiana)

All of my vacs

I guess the more I thought about this in reality all of my vacs are my favorites as i do use all of them and I have right at 220 vacs give or take, but I do use them all because I want to keep them all running in tip top shape. My kirby 561 totally suprised me as I store it in the old house and we kept putting things in the old house to where my 561 was buried for like 6 years without ever being turn on at all. from 1997 to 2001 it was buried so when I finally unburied it in 2001 and brought it in the house and I plugged it in I fired up right away, i really thought for sure the bearing would have been bad but they weren't

My trio of favorites........

If I had to grab three, and it would be a tough decision, it would be these.

The beautiful art deco Air-Way Model 35, "The Chief", the Dreyfuss designed Hoover Model 150 and sleek understated Hoover Model 64, "Citation."

Post# 366-8/31/2006-12:56 ||| air-waycharlie (Charlotte, NC)

This color scheme

is just so calming and lovely to the eye. And I love the way the word Citation is spelled diagonally up the bag in the matching red of the word Hoover on the bag and hood. Also, note the small Hoover decal at the base of the handle.......musical, just musical!

Understated flawless elegance. Hoover at it's best.

The 64 Citation....

Hey Charlie

Thats one BEAUTIFUL Hoover- is it restored or original?....we only had the 638 in that design over here :(. Im guessing that the 64 was the 1st upright model to actually have the familar red HOOVER badge on the cleaner???
