Well, after much scanning and html editing, I have added some new content to the site. You will notice that there is now a button for "Newsletters." I have added two to begin with. One going back to 2000 and the most recent one. The scanning takes a while, and there is a lot of things yet to do, so have patience, and I will add more newsletters shortly. This is a real accomplishment for me, since I was editing the home page and adding a button. I didn't want to screw that up!

charles lesters 2000 story was very nice. the *douglas* two-motor canister ad was new to me. anyone know more about the Douglas powerteam canister?

Post# 1652-9/24/2006-19:52 ||| Convertible68 (Bellville, TX)

Fred, great 2000 newsletter, thanks for sharing! It was a very interesting read!

Is it just me, or is the Douglas brand one of the more obscure, hard-to-find brands out there? Can't say I've ever heard of that machine. CR tested a Douglas power-nozzle canister in their September 1979 report, Model C6675, as well as the straight-suction version. One Penneys canister in that report was Douglas-made as well.

One thing I find interesting about that ad is the infamous Douglas power nozzle design seems virtually the same as it is today, although I don't know if a beater-bar version is still being produced. One thing I have to admit though, as cheap and crappy as it is, it isn't the worst P/N out there performance-wise.

Hats off to you,

Sir Webmaster! I perhaps uniquely understand just how much work you are doing, and how much behind the scenes stuff is involved. You're doing a truly stellar job.

Hmmm

We'll have to try to get to the bottom of this. Perhaps it is due to the fact that it is at the far right of the page and it is "falling off" some smaller screens? I will check with Robert. In the meantime, let me know if anyone else out there can't access the newsletters and I will move the button.

BTW - The next big addition will be some "See It Clean" Videos Jeff Parker, Fred Stachnik and I did this week. Jeff and Fred did some at Jeff's earlier this week and they were here tonight. We did:

Bison Centurion
Hoover 150
Hoover 53
Hoover Celebrity II
Eureka Vibra-Beat
Brand New Kirby 519
first Electrolux upright

but the best of all was Jeff demonstrating the "bag ejector" on the Electrolux LX. I didn't think it worked, but it did and we laughed so hard, we had tears coming down our faces. You will just have to wait until I can figure out how to get the videos posted. Stay tuned...

im kinda ignorant on web site html stuff, but maybe if you cleared your temporary internet files? and dont forget, the buttons are located at the *home page* just above the *vac of the day* icon. the buttons (see it clean/collections/neat links) are colored purple.

Skip you may need to flush your browser cache. Usually, closing the program and restarting it will do the trick. If not, depending on which browser you are using, somewhere in the Preferences settings there will be a way to clear your cache.

Then try reloading the page.
