Hello! I was so happy to come across this website the other day. I am friends with some of the VCCC members and unfortunately have been out of touch with them for quite a while. Although I am not currently a VCCC member, I love to collect and talk about vacuums or anything related to them. I am going to try to do some catching up through the past forum threads and hopefully join in on future conversations. I look forward to talking with everyone and catching up with some old friends. I hope everyone is doing well.

Logan

Well, welcome back. Thought you disappeared from the face of the earth. I remember taking your initial membership to the VCCC when I was in charge. Glad to see you are among the living and are with us once again. I recall you being into Luxes.

Logan, I remember you too

Hi, Logan. Good to hear from you and happy new year. I remember you from four or five years ago--or longer--from the old Vacuum Cleaner Forum.

Even though I'll turn 71 in February, I'm still collecting vintage vacuums.

Hi Logan

Welcome. As I recall, you had quite a collection of Electroluxes which is why I gave you the Lux wallpaper for your posts. You can go in and change it if you want. I seem to remember that you were going to reduce your collection. But I do recall that you had quite a collection of beautiful Electroluxes. If you get a chance to post some pictures, I am sure that everyone here would like to see them. Here are some of mine.

Fred

Hi Fred!

Yes, I am very fond of my Luxes. I did size down quite a bit, but I kept my all time favorites.

I love the photo of your collection. I have to admit my eyes opened wide when I saw that red/organe Eureka Ironside in the picture. (I also have a love for older Eurekas, Hoovers, and Kenmores...canisters only)

Didn't Eureka make an Ironside that was dark blue? I have been wanting one of those and could swear that I have seen one before. Do you or does anyone else know if Eureka made one of those in dark blue? If they did, what year did it come out? I am thinking later 80's early 90's but I could be wrong. It's just a guess.

Anyways, I'll post some pictures of my collection soon! Good to hear from you.

Hey Logan

It is interesting that you mention the Eureka Ironsides. I am not sure about the blue one, but that maroon machine came from my sister. It was purchased by me for her at Montgomery Wards in the 80's and came back to me from her quite trashed. I completely cleaned it up and restored it. The problem with those Eurekas was the fact that they leaked dust like crazy. Aside from that, they are great machines. The picture I posted was only one side of a room that houses my collection. My basement has three rooms, lined with machines.

If you like Kenmore Canisters, you will love this one. One of the first Kenmore Power Nozzle Canisters. It won a Blue Ribbon for "Most Historical Value" at one of the conventions.

Blue Ribbon Kenmore Saturn

I can see why that won a blue ribbon...

That power nozzle looks almost identical to the style that some of the Eureka and Sanitaire canister vacuums have today. (See below). I wonder if that is where they got the idea from...

Since we were sharing pics of Ken Karts, thought I would post mine as well.
