I figured I will get a better response from this thread, for this Electrolux mystery. Thanks Pete, for reading the tool thread. The large tool has been identified as Canadian Electrolux, its there to serve as a model against these two tools stamped Electrolux with the outline around the name, which is embossed in capitals on the tapered ends, on both sides of each little tool. They fit the Lux hoses perfectly. They are molded this way and not cut down. Lux experts, what's up?

I may be wrong,

As I am not that familiar with the newer stuff, but I think they were shrunk down so they would fit inside the tool compartments on certain machines. Carry aboard. I could not tell you any model numbers or machine names.

Alan, I am not sure but I am wondering if maybe these were sold with the less expensive machine that Electrolux sold on places like QVC and during the times they were available in some of the discount stores like Service Merchandise.

Crevicetool and Luxg, those are two logical theories, maybe both are correct. It's almost like that mysterious library brush that surfaced in some older literature. They will come in handy for dusting the computer!

I don't know when Electrolux used the stubby crevice tools but I know Nilfisk-Advance and Kent-Euroclean uses those on their canister and backpack models.

I have seen the stubby Electrolux crevice tools in attachment sets for the Electrolux upright cleaners.I beleive Sanitaire had a commercial upright that had the short crevice tool on at as "tools on board"and included the famous electrolux combo dust brush-ulpolstery tool.

Thanks Tolivac, it looks like the mystery is solved. It makes sense that they'd want something space saving and easy to use.

Also I can remember when I had the Guardian Lux vacuum they had a telescoping crevice tool so it would fit in the tools on board tool compartment on the top of the canister. The tool sometimes collapsed when you were using it.The longer crevice tools were best though-you could reach into the deep crevices in sofas and in cars. The stubby ones were OK for drawer and box corners and slide door tracks.

It goes with a lux 2100 series machine or one of the uprights with onboard tools (4000 and 6000). On a 2100 style cleaner it clips in behind the combo duster like in the picture below.
