Her are some pix of my Mom's Christmas Village. It goes up very year before Thanksgiving and comes down after New Years. My Dad sets up mortor board stands (plasterer's term) and plywood and my Mom starts at the back end and works her way to the front. There are "powerline holes' here and there for all the cords to go down through. I think there are 4 powerstrips down below. My Brother made the backdrop from a blue bed sheet and his air brush paints.

Downtown

or is it Uptown? Town Square is through the archway. Mom made the rock tunnel from rocks outside.

In the Window

I place this assembly out for The Season each year. Some time back it was included in a local church's display of nativities

Fabulous!

Marty, your mom's Christmas village is fabulous. It reminds me of our day at Disneyland. Remember our stop at Dept. 56?!

Thanks for sharing. It's great fun to see how everyone decorates for the holidays.

Marty -- wow

What a display. In what part of your mom's home is this display located. It must be huge!

Christmas diorama, love it. Is it something that's gotten bigger each year as more pieces get added on?

Pine Valley

My name for the village started out one a table in the family room. Over the years it has grown to what it is today. BIG! Which is why my Mom leaves it up for so long. It is still set up in the family room. We just move furniture around to make it work. There is a sliding glass door behind the backdrop but we just use one of the other doors to go outside.

Thanks guys for the nice words.

Great pix Marty, but I have to say, the photos just don't do it justice. When you walk into the room and see it in "real life," it literally takes your breath away.

WOW ... Am I Impressed

Marty,

Kudos to your mom and supporting family members at creating such a wonderful winter scene. The charm depicted in the yesteryear theme is fantastic. Like Charles indicated, it has to be absolutely incredible in person. What Fun!! I could so easily become absorbed and lost in that world you created.

Every year, I take pride in putting our little 11 building village scene together on the library table in our livingroom. It is tiny compared to the amazing scene you all create. However, I absolutely love putting it together and have a very difficult time at the end of the season taking it down. In my opinion, village scenes are a pivotal point in decorating a house for the holiday!!

Enjoy and happy holiday to you and your family!!

Pat
