We have been privileged to see reproductions of beautiful and informative ads in both the newsletter and the Vacuum of the Day here on the website. But often the important, unanswered question is "When?" Occasionally a date, either from the magazine or within the body of the ad, appears, but more likely it doesn't. Would it be possible to put the date, at least the year, with these wonderful ads? It would answer so many questions of the reader.
I had discussed this with Alex Taber at the St. Louis convention, when it looked like he would be doing the newsletter, and he agreed that it would be a good idea.

Will Do

I have referenced the dates that I know in the index of the newsletter, but you are correct, it would be helpful to have a footer with the date on it. I will do that with the next newsletter. Of course, there are some that are ads cut out with no date on them and we are out of luck on those unless some knows when they were published.

I too agree that there should be dates on some of these ads. When I saw the Kenmore Power-Mate ad, I was perplexed that there was no year on it...although I'm guessing it's from the late-60's?

dates, yes

I have to agree with dates. We are about time and age of the vacuums we love. It helps keep the time line by brands
and features in line for those of us who remember seeing some of the older machines in person. As well, as helping the new or younger members get a idea of that time line!!
Just my thoughts

Dates on Ads

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestion. I sent an email today to Fred and the board indicating we need to remember to place a date on ads ect. in the future newsletters.

Now for the next newsletter perhaps there are many of you that have interesting ads or articles that you would like to see published. If so, please email them to Fred Nelson or myself so we can be working on the next issue.
