I am sure that many of you have noticed that a few threads which deteriorated into mudslinging have been deleted. The "Dyson" thread was one of those. That thread however, had a very nasty twist to it. Late at night, someone came on the site, logged in with a fake ID "Outaleftfield" from a place called "farfaraway." They put a screaming post on and then deleted the temporary ID and disappeared. That is why I finally deleted the thread.

That is not the end of the story, however. When I got up the next morning, as I usually do, I checked the site while still half asleep. I immediately deleted the post and started on a sleuthing mission with the help of Robert, the brilliant designer of this site. Many of the mechanics of this site are written in PERL, a computer language that is suitable to perform many functions related to running a website. You may not know it, but most of the posters actions, including their IP addresses are stored with the posts. By 10 AM that morning, we had identified the poster (a regular visitor and poster on this site) and they had been dealt with, much to their surprise, I am sure.

We are off to a somewhat bumpy start here, but I am bound and determined that this site will be a nice and friendly place and anyone that tries to upset that will be dealt with. Thanks for making this a nice place to be.

I have found most of the postings to be courteous, humerous and most importantly educational.

The combined knowledge among posters and members is astonishing!

Mr. Seeger has done a superb job of bringing people with like interets together.

We have him to thank for both the washer and vacuum sites which have become solid cyber communities.

It is a shame that he must also "police" the sites because of the one percent idiot intrusion.

Thank you (all) for being there.

Your Site

This is wishwash here and I must say that I love this site! I also go to the washer site as well. Both are exceptional! I guess that I am not the usual participant here as I am a classic 53 year old grandmother, been married to a man for 26 years and am a southern Baptist. I love the people here and find them most refreshing and interesting. Gay individuals are among the nicest, most caring and sensitive people I have had the pleasure to know. And I know many. I don't see them as any different than anyone else and feel that they should have the same rights as everyone does. Some people are just so ignorant! Judgemental and cruel too. God made us all and God loves us all--equally. Okay, I'll get off the soapbox now.....

Dear Wishwash,

Welcome to our little land and I must say your attitude toward "all those other folks" is quite a bit different from the average Southern Baptist. I should know, I grew up in the Baptist Church and, worse, was a "P.K." to those who remember what that means! ("Preacher's Kid")

I defected from the Baptists to the Methodists first chance I had, and have since then really "Backslidden" -- to the Lutheran Church!

My parents' attitudes have changed a lot over the years too, but they also acknowledge that in their denomination (they are still Baptists), they are in a tiny minority.

Anyway, I'll get off MY soap box now! Again, welcome!

Welcome Wishwash

We welcome everyone with an open mind here and you certainly seem to have that. Glad to have you.
