New members?

Hi Morgan,

Does RJ have any contact info for the new VCCC members so the newsletters can be sent to everyone?

New members?

Austin,

I do believe he does, however, if you don't receive your newsletter by mid week, next week let me know. I have not seen the newsletter or the mailing list, but I do know that our membership sec. Terry Latz sent your names to RJ to welcome new members. Our treas. Dave Olsen also sent some updated information today as well.

We will do our best to make sure you receive the newsletter in a timely manor.

Thanks
Morgan

Newsletter

Wow, what a well executed newsletter, best since I've been a member. Pictures, content, flow, everything is just great! Looking forward to the next one!

Got mine on the 9nth.Very interesting-Love the photo tour of the Fox Theater. There is a Spencer central vac system in a Gov't building I used to work in-the place was built in 1939-no one knows where the Spencer machinery is.The outlets are still in the walls. We had a small Spencer vacuum cleaner in the studio maintenance shop(where I worked)that was so cool and effective. All metal body and a fan system that looked like a miniature organ blower.Had an old Lamb motor on it-fixed the brushes on it-and worked like a champ! It used to be used in a vacuum system to collect cuttings from disc recording lathes. They used to record their own acetate discs there for on air playback.the disc machines were replaced by cart machines.

Newsletter arrived today.

Beautiful job, as usual.

As a former newsletter editor, and former webmaster, I resonate with the pleas for people to contribute.

Both vehicles of communication, great as they already are, could be so much better if more people participated.

Guys and gals ... you all have collections. Let's see photos of 'em! No excuses ... "I have too few" ... "They are all crummy" ... I don't have a camera" ....... these are all just the lazy way out and yer being kinda selfish!! ("Can we tawk")

And you all can write. Granted, some of us have a better command of communication skills than others, but you still can sit down and write. Who cares if you can't spell or conjugate verbs. Tell about your sweeper memories as a child -- how you got interested -- machines you remember -- funny things that happened -- your first machine -- when you started collecting...............

People love to gripe and moan when the newsletter doesn't measure up to their standards, or when it's late and so on. But when it comes to getting involved ... everyone turns into the friends of "The Little Red Hen."

I mean, really now.

It's not going to be much of a club if no one gets involved.

One quick question...

It didn't mention it on the front page, but are the newsletters published quarterly or monthly?

Post# 1182-9/12/2006-16:54 ||| Convertible68 (Bellville, TX)

Just read the back page and answered my own question...it is quarterly! Oops!

Gary,

You may want to email R. J. Vanik to make sure he did, indeed, mail you a newsletter.

Newsletter

Charlie,

I have all ready contacted Gary and will be mailing his newsletter on Thursday. If anyone else has not received the newsletter please let me know. I have the extra copies and will be more than happy to put them in the mail.

I can only make it to the Post Office on my days off, so it may take a few days.

Thanks

Morgan
