Dear Members of the VCCC,

Wow! How far have we come in just a few years? Our history is that of just a handful of collectors getting together and eventually starting contests.

Fast forward.........now we have a structured club with a President, Board, Bylaws, etc. We can boast a paid membership of approx. 130+, developed annual conventions with agendas, regulated cleaning contests and even appeared on CBS television twice!

How proud our original and founding members must be. And how fortunate and grateful and newer members should feel. We have come out of our "vacuum cleaner closets" and united in our interest and passion. We are still showing a disposable world that we value the cleaning tools of the past along with our fellow vintage appliance collectors. How great to have a united interest that brings so many of us together that thought we were alone.

Our founders Alex Taber and John Lucia should feel their efforts are well rewarded. Clay Floyd and Charlie Lester are two others that deserve special thanks as well. Along came Tom Gasko who contributed so much to where we are. So many thanks go to so many people who gave us, "firsts", along our path that has brought us here.

So, in the spirit of our interest, vacuum cleaners, I thank you all for your support, your passion and your camaraderie. We have now moved to the next level of internet communication which will only make us stronger and more unified.

A special day INDEED!!!

Members and Friends of the VCCC,

I can not put into words my appreciation for those who have served on the web site committee. You bravely took the challenge that was placed before you at the St. Louis Convention to research the possiblities of a new and improved web site. We left St. Louis thinking it could take up to one year to complete this project, now three months later we are up and running...NOW THAT IS TEAM WORK and DEDICATION.

very nice!!

The site looks good. I know we will have many good conversations here.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who brought us this new site, and to Charles Lester for his work on our first website.

Congratulations, everyone at V.Land. How exciting it must be to get in at the ground level of a wonderful new, vacuum-dedicated site. I'm sure enthusiasts will stumble onto this site and cheer, just as most of us did when we discovered Automatic Washer.org.

I'm not a huge vac-head, so I won't have much to add; but I'll sure enjoy seeing your acquisitions and restored vintage models and I'll certainly visit regularly.

Viva VacuumLand!

Yes Yes Yes

How much of a relief to find out that your not the only one with this passion as for years people told me I was basket case for my addiction to vacuum cleaners but like I would always say to hell with them and I'm not a basket case at all. What truly amazes me is some of our stories are quite the same. I know in Talking with Tania, she and I are carbon copies of each other as what We did with the vacuum cleaners growing up. We had the same routine for sure LOL

Edit My Profile

Charlie,
Is there a way that I can edit my screen name. In an effort to be clever I did see that I had misspelled my name. I spelled it LaBuwit and it should have been LaBuwyt. Get it LaBue/Lewyt. Hee Hee

Michael you will need to go into the User Profiles and click on "Delete My User Name". Then you will need to set up a new name, there is no easy way to just rename your user name.
