Thanks to Roger LeQuea, a great member from Tucson, we now have a complete 1951 CU Report on Vacuum Cleaners. Check it out under "Consumer Articles." If you have been following the Contemporary Threads you will see a reference to the new Constellation and also see a picture of me using a great Hoover 51. I mentioned that Roger was going to send me the 1951 CU review of vacs and was wondering how the Lux XXX would come out against the Hoover 51. Of course, the Lux XXX came in second (against the Hamilton Beach!) and the Hoover 51 came in not too far behind.

just read it. does the CR article suggest that the Royal upright cleaned better than the Hoover 62? i will have to work to wrap my mind around that one. and how humiliating for GE to have their inferior motors EXPOSED!
