Welcome Aboard!!

Gary and Austin,

Thanks for joining our circle of collectors and friends. I want to personally extend an invite to next years convention, putting faces to the names you see here is so much fun (Not to mention all the vacuums).

If you ever have any questions feel free to contact any of the board members or myself and we will do our best to answer them.

Perhaps in this thread you can tell us little about yourselfs.

Again Welcome!!!!

Morgan

Welcome

Morgan and Terry,

Thanks for the welcome. I have been a vacuum fan for as long as I can remember. Of course way back then being from a small town of 2500 people it wasn't cool for a guy to be interested in vacs! LOL but whenever my parents took me to their friends homes I always managed to snoop around and find out what kind of vacuum they owned. I remember seeing Rainbows, Lux's, Eurekas, Filter Queens, Hoovers and being amazed by them all. Now I get to have my own vacs!

A little about me. I am 47, partnered to a great guy for 5 years (no interest in vacs whatsoever though), work in the computer field, have 2 cats, 1 dog, own a home in the country and 3 years ago began playing the organ and have now acquired 3 of them, all Lowreys.

I'd love to attend the convention sometime but don't think the partner would be too thrilled :-).

Gary
PS. Attached is a pic of me.

Gary thanks for the picture. It is always nice to be able to put a face to a name. We are so glad to have you with us. It is amazing how similar all of our early stories are. I was always warned when we went somewhere to stay out of the "closets" now that is ironic.LOL Again feel free to contact any of us if you have questions. Terry

I guess like us Washer guys were scolding for wandering into the untility rooms of other people's houses.

Come out of the closet, and take the vacuum with you LOL.

Hi Morgan & Terry, thanks for the warm welcome as well.

A little more about me: Most of you know me on the Automaticwasher.org site as I post quite frequently there and have been a member for the past 2 1/2 years (my "handle" is Westytoploader). I also went to the Applianceville Convention in Omaha last year, where I met a lot of fellow members including Terry, Greg Nunn, Charlie Watrous, and Fred Nelson. That was a time like no other, complete with quite a bit of vacuuming as I and many others test-drove a Hoover Model 29 (which I have been drooling over ever since), Kirby 516, and Premier Duplex in the kitchen! Last April I went to the Tucson, Arizona wash-in and saw Roger LeQuea's fantastic vacuum collection. Of course I had to run some of those awesome machines, especially the Hoover Model 65 Convertible, which I fired up more than once that night! Roger has some very interesting vacuums and washers alike, and I highly recommend anyone interested to come to Tucson 2007. That one was definitely the most fun as far as wash/vac-ins are concerned...great food, great people, and of course great machines!

When I joined Applianceville in 2004, I had probably around 10 or so vacuums and 3 washers. Over the last couple of years my collection has grown to 13 washers (some of which will be finding new homes) and 32 vacuums...and will probably grow more!

I am glad to finally be a member of the VCCC, and I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the Omaha Convention next year, as well as other highlights such as the cleaning contest!
