A comment was made about the great work Alex Taber and Bob Lucia did in the early years. As Mr. Lucia is a good friend of mine, I wanted to correct this. It's John Lucia and Bob (Alex) Taber!

Also for those of you who are new to the club it was John and I who started this club. I'd already been to Hoover, got the ball rolling and a year later Stacy Krammes, director of the Hoover Historical Center put John in touch with me. We went to Hoover and were given several names of people who were vacuum cleaner collectors. I drafted the first newsletter in January of 83 and the club was on it's way.

Generally, it works best on these types of forums to make comments, corrections, replies, etc., to existing threads rather than starting new ones. Otherwise, you have a million topics going with one or two posts to each and you lose the continuity of the discussions. And brain-dead dumdums like me get confused when they don't know what others are talking about! :)
