My wife Lena wasn't overly thrilled with any of my collecting hobbies--printing equipment, books, records, Lawn-Boy mowers, or Vacuum Cleaners--and would give me one of those disgusted looks or say something like "don't you think you have enough (pick one of the above)?" Well, recently something happened that changed her point of view a bit.
One evening she was looking over my shoulder as I was checking out the Vacuum of the Day, which happened to be a Hoover 28, and she said "that looks just like the one Grandma had! I used to ride on it when I was little." I proceded to wheel my 28 into the room, and asked "Is this it?"
Tapping on the hood, she answered, "yes, this is where I used to sit!" And I told her, "That's what it's all about--the MEMORIES!!" And at that moment it was as if a light went on, and she understood.
So how about you? I know all of you, or at least some of you, have to have your own stories of an event that caused a spouse, child, parent, or other family member or friend to understand, or connect with your collection. I told you my story, now LET'S HEAR YOURS!!

I wished I could say he same but my partner still thinks of all my "treasures" as just more junk LOL. When we listed our house for sale there were a couple of occasions where the guy accompanying the wife walked into my collection room and eyes lit up, asking all about stuff. They were also taken by my old Amana R7 mw in the kitchen.
