Tonight I was looking at Hoover's commercial vacuums. Has anyone seen the prices on these? They are crazy! The base model commercial elite upright without tools is $200 and the prices go up from there toping off with the $1700 dual conquest. Are any of these machines worth the money? Are they actualy built better than the domestic cleaners?

Take a look:

hmm, the prices on that site seem inflated. the prices on the commercial Convertibles are high. in addition, I know the local Hoover Co store sells the Conquest for a bit less.

IMO the Conquest is a fine choice for large areas or for very dirty/high traffic areas. if only it had a respectable, traditional shakeout bag system i would give it a perfect score. the brushroll, fancase/impeller, main casting, handle and wheels are all built for heavy duty.

Still mortified that the Commercial Portapower is retailing for $200.00 as discussed in the CP thread. 200 for that miserable 3 foot hose with it.

Well...

I'll be holding out for one the vintage "machine age" Hoover uprights. Love the styling!

Yeah, I thought the prices looked a little high, especialy for the elites and windtunnels. The conquest was the only model where the price seemed even close to reasonable.
