I picked this up this afternoon, thinking I already had the identical machine at home, but for $8.00 I wasn't going to leave it. The hose was in a different department, but the head, wand and vacuum were together. It works quite well, and has a 1980 Olympic sticker on the top near the blower opening. I did not already have it, so I'm glad I went.

Very nice catch you found there at a good price too. Is the power nozzle always on when you turn it on or is there a switch somewhere on the handle unlike the Canadian trigger switch?

Hi Pete, the power nozzle is always on when you use it. The unbroken grip has a suction nob on it though. I have an unbroken grip on the AE I got yesterday, the hose and cord on the other one are quite new.

To have found that machine- "The official Vacuum Cleaner of the 1980 Winter Games" with the emblem intact. So often, those are missing. I have that machine as my daily driver. I have beat the (&#^ out of it for fifteen years. And that after finding it in the garbage!!!

Ah, I did find something unusual! I almost left it! Stupid me thought it was identical to my 50th Jubilee Edition. Duh. Even if the sticker weren't original to that machine, I'd leave it. Glad I found it all. Except the four Luxes I got this year never had the crevice or combo tools with them. Can't have everything!

I also need to know how to get the hose out of my 50th Jubilee, I think someone put it in wrong.

I can help you out with that hose problem. I have seen that problem before. You need to remove the 4 screws on the inside of the cover. Then you need to remove the outer plastic piece over the hose. You might need to unplug the bag check light to do this. Then unscrew the 2 screws holding the chrome hose coupler. This will remove the machine's hose connector, allowing you to unclip it from the inside. If you need more details, just ask!
