Has anyone tried a Hoover Floormate, Bissell Flip it, or the Kenmore EVO hard floor cleaners? Are they worth the investment? I have primarily hardwoods on both levels of my house. Just wondering what you all think?

Hoover Floormate
Yes Tim, I bought a Hoover for my daughter almost 5 years ago now. Just replaced the squeege on it. Not great as a crumb

Here's the one I got awhile back at a liquidation store for $60. It works well but quite honestly I find it easier to just get out the Swiffer Wet Jet or the Vileda mop and bucket. I wished it scrubbed a little harder on the tiles than it does. ![]() |

Hoover
I got out my Hoover Spin Scrub Steam Vac that I use on area rugs last night. I found the hard floor attachment. It doesn't work very well at drying the floor because there is not a squeeqe to sweep up the water. However, my floors do look cleaner and the water was pretty filthy. I'm still checking into a Hoover Floormate. How loud are they? They can't be as loud as my SteamVac on bare floors. If I decide not to go with an mechanical cleaner, what kinds of mops have you guys found that work best? I am using a Libman string mop that has a washable head on it. I can't stand the Swiffer ordeal. I don't like to clean floors with cold solutions. I would rather use good, hot water and a mop.

I have a steam mop which uses either disposable cloths or washable cloths for cleaning the linoleum. I just had laminate flooring installed and was going to use it on that also but the floor installer told me that wasn't a good idea because the steam could damage the laminate. I don't think it could be any worse than using a liquid and mop or swiffter in fact I think it would do less harm because it is producing steam which then gets absorbed by the cloth head and leaves the floor much drier? Any opinions?
