I don't really know how to read serial numbers but i think the constellation was built back in August 2007......and the dial-a-nap has a serial number leading back to march 1980.

That Dial a Nap will be nice all cleaned up. Like the metal ones.

did you know you can buy a clear, wide genuine Eureka bumper for that upright? it would realy dress it up.

How loud is the new Constellation? One of the things I like about the earlier models (floaters) is the pleasant, muffled tone because of the exhaust being underneath and the filter pad over the top of the motor.

I imagine the new model is more powerful (and hence floats better?) but, really, my two originals (one is tan and canary yellow and the other tan and orange) have more than sufficient suction power.

But it IS cool that, before its death-gasp, Hoover reintroduced the Constellation. Almost as if to say "Goodbye Cruel World" with a nod to its once-glorious past.

It's still hard to believe that there is no more Hoover. :(

Amen Charlie.

I know what you mean. As I sit here looking at all of my older Hoovers (1926 700-1982 Convertible) (with many in between)I realize that even though I don't want to believe it its true. Hoover as we know it and love it is gone. Thanks alot TTI you've ruined an American company that was very important to alot of people. So let us remember Hoover's glory days while we collect and use all of our Hoovers and remember the once proud and all-American Hoover Company of North Canton Ohio.
