Yes I am very happy that i kept The filterqueen...Yes Pete that is Elizabeth montgomery in the pic in the background. I did meet her in person in her home in Beverly hills when I was 12 ..I posted the story of my experience of meeting Liz...and ...hmmm ...I was open to sharing and I got the impression that not alot of members were very warm to the story.

Never you mind those few envious petty folks with a selfish sour outlook on life. We know better. Life is what you make of it or what falls in your lap. Last thing ya wanna do is just sit there and watch it flop around on the floor - pick it up and play with it.

My happenstance events of 'brushes with greatness' are entirely work-related. Spent an afternoon with Anne Miller sipping lemonade in her backyard on Palm Beach Is., chatted with Barbara Eden, frothy & blonde in chiffon in LA, gave Helen Hayes a hug in Chicago, all in the mid 1980s. And then there was the time I almost ran over a running Barbara Walters crossing the street to New York City Hall...
As for the well-known who've passed through the backstage of this theatre over my 35 years here, well, it is nice to see how purty some people are in person and personality.

Tell the stories, show off the collections, live your life with enthusiasm & wonder. Its a nasty enough world out there - who wants to share that?

HiBrad Well to begin with very nice vacuums so far. You will find that 10 become 20 20 become 30 so make room. I have them all over my bedroom ,Guest room, and lets not talk about the basement. For years i never talked about my vacuums then i relized life is to short as i am now 62 ( have loved vacuums since i was four) Started my love for vacuums when ny parents had a Kirby demo A Kirby 505 i would not let the salesman leave until they bought it. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement, I really appreciate that. I agree, life is meant to be experienced, to be playfull, and also live in the moment. I know that my happiness and joy start from and expand from within myself.I am very excited about diving deep into my creativity and building "Beerad's Vacuumland"with all the love and passion I can embtrace! I have found that the root of my inner joy is the vacuum cleaner, the people who buy them , and the people who use them.There is something wonderful and magical about connecting people and vacuum cleaners.My experience is that of joy and comfort , especially when I speak to a person who purchased a vac in the 50s 60s or 70s.....and they all have a story of how well amde the vac is and how it is still going ,how it survived two generations,,, and so on. I feel that the vacuum is a powerful tool to connect to people. When i speak to someone about their vacuum , they are in the moment to experience my joy, beacuse it is written all over my face and in my voice...I am feeling excited and passionate right now about sharing this message, and I am wondering how many other people out here in "Vacuumland" may have similar thoughts? Well, I encourage everyone to be joyful, have love, and gratitude and share your experiences!!!Lets play!!

I really don't know which one of those vacuums I like the most in the picture, they all look so pretty in that nice room setting. I'm trying to renew the Elizabeth Montgomery thread I started in the Off-Topic forum, because I liked the story Brad told, and for that matter, how about some additional stories of actors and actresses in relation to her?

The chrome Filter Queen, was that the one that the FQ company was going to swap a new model for? I am so glad you passed on that. No current model could compare with what you have. Anyone can go out and purchase a new one, but how many people can acquire such a beautiful example like you have.

Thank you arh1953 and electrogirl for the kind comments. they have both made my day... and I am soooo gald that I kept the old chrome filterqueen...I also love to continue to share my stories, especially when they bring to me joy.... I am all for sharing my stories that bring to me joy, love and gratitude. When I share in these experiences, I am expanding outward from my joy, and THAT makes me feel great!! Looks like your collection is off to a good start, and I'm glad you decided to keep the Filter Queen. I believe you may have a rare one there--the only ones of that style I've ever seen were all brown.
And I agree with Doug--watch out-they multiply!! In the first half of last year my son and I had 12 in our collection, and now we have 33!

Brad.. I think I asked b4 and forgot now... who made that FQ, and was it in Canada made?

yes it is Canada made in toronto. I have also found that it is 1939 model 200A . This particular chrome model was not available to the public.It was only available to the top sales person in that year. This also was the first year(1939) that this canister was made,, and it was a tan and brown ( for the public).It also has a royal motor in it.
