Just saw this on my local craigslist. Never saw one of these before. Kind of a neat design. In the ad the seller has it listed as a DD "Kone" Vac. ![]() |

I see them in a number of stores but I'll just bide my time till those same stores put them out on the clearance table. I'm swearing off as best possible not to buy anything that uses rechargeable batteries anymore. When I think of all the junk I've bought over the years that no longer work because those batteries eventually fizzle out and you can't replace them economically. Black & Decker had to be the worst when it came to that. Always bringing out some new tool or gizmo for about 1 year, you buy it, then you're stuck with something that eventually you have no choice but to toss it. |

Hi Electrogirl, I found the Kone in our local BigLots. I think it was $39.95. Speaking of rechargeable appliance, if I don't keep my Shark Sweeper plugged in when I'm not using it, it dies without being used. I'd think it would keep a charge for a while. |

I got a blue one...
From TTI, when they bought out Hoover. They gave all Service Center employees one as a "welcome to the company" sort of thing.

This Kone Vac. would have been great for the old Sat. Night Live "The Cone Heads" to have on the show instead of using their own cone. Alan, My Shark Sweeper doesn't stay charged when its not plugged in all the time either,I've had it for about three years,I found it at a thrift store for 3.00,so I've gotten my moneys worth,The handle broke so I'll look for one on e-bay,they have improved batteries now, these really work great, especially cat litter on bare floors, I'm always surprised at how much it picks up when I empty the tray. Yeah, you can't beat that $3.00 price tag. I've gotten quite a bit of use out of mine for $3.59. |

Thier also sold in Australia under the Vax brand name for about $79.00 at Target and under the Dirt Devil brand at Kmart both called KONE.

Now for a handheld with power this is my new Dyson DC16 motorhead. Im not at all a Dyson fan but I have to say this thing sure has some power. It will run for a full 6 minutes before it needs recharging.

Dyson DC16
6 Minutes.... how could you even begin to use it for any major cleaning... It is so big and awkward, you could not use it on your car as the run time would not be long enough nor would it fit into any tight spaces. For $150.00 it doesn't seem to be much of a bargin. I will say though it is an interesting machine and probably does have better suction than most hand held battery units. I never have owned any of those battery operated machines... to me they are just a waste to time and energy and never fully charged when you need them...LOL

Looks Like......
A bug sprayer and a Dewalt drill had a one night stand.
