Just finished doing a top to bottom clean of the house and used the Turbopower on all the carpets as usual but I noticed it seems quieter than normal, reduced tram lines and its not gripping the carpet very well. Usually get quite a roar when pulling the cleaner back to myself after pushing it and its not as hard as usual to manoeuvre. Its had a new Brushroll fitted, new belt but I wonder if perhaps its due some new Carbon Brushes? Any Ideas Guys? I still love the power it has and ability to groom carpets over anything we have had since our Turbomaster went 10 years ago. Id hate to have to call it a day now on it. *waiting anxiously for reply* I know you will do well for me guys :) :) Rob |

Hey Rob,
The carbons are worth checking, but it's also worth seeing if the armature rotates freely. I've had a couple of machines where the motor speed would fluctuate for no apparent reason, one was a Junior where a load of hair had tangled up between the front bearing and the fan (very stiff armature), another was my blue Senior, which seems to have been sorted by a bit of oil in the top bearing.

Cheers Si
Il strip it down later, *if im recovered by the time I get home lol* i was worried it was time for a new motor. Are they easy to come by? I do have to say though it has to be genuine. i really could not put in a motor that sounds anything different. Like putting an Ftp motor in a Hotpoint Automatic over a GEC. Let you know how it goes, Rob |

Hey Guys
Thanks for the response, I didnt have time to post until now. Late last week I had it to pieces and replaced the Carbons, and Put a new fan in. Fair bit of muck behind the fan and the plastic itself was chipped to hell. All back to normal and its working fantastic! Such easy machines to work on and so simple in design. Thanks guys you really helped. Take care, Rob |
