I was never a big oreck fan as I can remember back in 1989 and borrowing my stepmother's Oreck and It didn't clean hardly at all,so that kinda did it for me. 2 years ago I was delivering to one of my customers and He has a store with his Restraunt connected to the store. when I entered the restraunt, I saw in the corner this big Upright vacuum cleaner and I just had to check it out and found that it was an Oreck dual stack, well It looked very impressive to me. I asked Hubert about his Oreck if it really did a really good job and He replied that He had a Kirby G5 and found the Oreck did a better job. So from then on I wanted a dual Stack but I didn't like the price of them. Every now and then I would see one on ebay but the bids were what I didn't want to pay. so I kinda forgot about the Dual Stack. Well the bug hit me a couple of weeks ago and I found one in an ebay store for 199.00 bin. Well I didn't want to pay that much for one thing one of the cord hooks is broken off and it was missing the belt door. I keep checking to see if maybe there were more on ebay but none at all. So I was Talking To Reggie about it and He told me to contact the seller and see if Maybe He would drop the price down. I was leary because I have bought from him before and He usually doesn't drop his price. well I decide to ask him and sure enough He did drop it to what I asked. Well I did indeed buy it. It came in yesterday and I was all excited about it. I hurried up and put it together and was vaccuming away all over. then went on the computer and then again I vacuumed with it again but I notice sometimes it would make a strange noise. When I did unpack it there was a cloud of dirt coming out from the brush roll and thought nothing of if. My son came and told me that it was smelling the burnt, I can't smell. So I went ahead and torn into it. I couldn't believe how clog it was. It was so clog that the fan wasn't always turning. So after cleaning it out totally, I vacuumed with it again and couldn't believe how well it actually vacuumed up the carpets,I'm very impressed with it. I know it is a commercial vacuum cleaner but I do have a few in my collection anyway. But my point being it is well worth the money. Another thing I like is the oreck plant is very reasonable on there parts and bags too. The belt door was 3 bucks and an 8 pack of bags was 19.00. I'm sure now that the newer Orecks aren't a bad vacuum at all. I did also get a vintage oreck xl commercial canister vacuum off of Ebay and I 'm totally suprised with it as well. It even has the p/n outlet on it. and it has super suction as well.

Thread Was Moved
I have not seen this vacuum before, but I assume that it was manufactured after 1980, so this thread really belongs on the Contemporary forum. I have moved it.

the dual stack is comparable to the Hoover Conquest and Sanitaire wide track. oreck suggests that the dual stack would outperform Windtunnel. wonder how it would compare to these? |

My only knowledge of this cleaner is seeing Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie use it to suck up spilt cremation-ashes off the desk on 'The Simple Life' when they were being undertakers for the week! |
