VACUUMLAND FORUMS RULES AND GUIDELINES
By activating your user ID or posting, you agree with the Webmaster and the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club to abide by the following guidelines for participation in the Vacuumland Forums.
1. Access to the site is unlimited but access to posting on the forums requires an email request to the Webmaster to gain posting privileges. You will be required to supply a valid email address as well as your real name for your profile even though you can post under a nickname. No anonymous users or pseudonyms will be allowed. If the Webmaster discovers that there are multiple posters using one user account, that account will be deactivated. Any violation of these rules will subject the poster to revocation of posting privileges. Understand that these rules will be enforced by the Webmaster as authorized by the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club Board of Directors.
2. Posting to the Vacuumland Forum is open to both Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club members and non-members. However, in both cases, posting is a "privilege" -- NOT a "right."
3. In the two Vacuum Cleaner forums, posts are to be on-topic -- about vacuum cleaners, and categorized according to vintage and modern as applicable. The place for off-topic posts is the Off-topic Forum.
4. There will be no political announcements, advertisements, spam, or links to "adult" or "porn" sites.
5. All guests in this Forum will please conduct themselves with decorum. While it's expected that "heated discussions" may arise from time to time (otherwise, this would be a very dull forum indeed), guests will at all times treat one other with dignity and respect. While this means different things to different people, the Webmaster will contact you should you he feel that you are violating this guideline. Multiple warnings will ultimately result in the loss of posting privileges.
6. Harassment of other posters, out-of-control flaming, profanity, vulgarity, "food fights," and bad-mouthing vacuum cleaner manufacturers will not be permitted. Those who abuse their privilege to post here will be permanently barred from future posts. If you don’t feel that you can follow these guidelines, please do not join in the conversation.
7. If someone posts something that upsets you, or that you disagree with, you would be well advised to wait 24 hours, sleep on it, and consider very carefully your "NEED" to chime-in with remarks that will disturb the gentle serenity of our forum. If you have a beef with someone, and you just can't resist the urge to put in your 2-cents' worth, send them an email privately. Everyone on this forum needs to include their email address in their profile, so anyone can be reached off-list.
8. It is vitally important for people who have their trigger-fingers on the POST button to understand -- with no uncertainty -- that carping, bickering, arguing, and "hostile posts" will not be tolerated on the VCCC Forum. Again, there will be no second chances for those who begin antagonizing other posters or trying to stir up needless controversy. Once someone has been dismissed, they will remain dismissed for good.
9. If objectionable postings get out of hand on a group level, the forum will be closed.
10. When posting a message or review on
Vacuumland you are giving a soft
license to the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club for its use.
11. Postings are the opinion of the individual poster and not the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club.
12. Topics/posts related to the activities of the Webmaster, the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club or it Board are not permitted. The reason for this is that this is a forum open to the public and posters are guests. Webmaster/Board Members would be delighted to hear your opinions via email.
13. None of the content in the posts may be reproduced without the permission of the member who created them
14. No copyrighted content is permitted to be inserted into posts. Users may use excerpts of less than one paragraph if quoted and sourced properly.
15. You are older than 12 years old. If you are 12 or younger you will need a release form from your parents prior to posting anything to the site. (COPPA, 2000)
16. Treat others how you yourself would prefer to be treated.
Thanks for your adherence AT ALL TIMES to these guidelines.
