Room Cost: $89.99 plus tax; includes cooked to order breakfast. Rooms are suites with a sitting area, two flat screen TVs, Two sinks, fridge, and microwave plus coffee maker. This fee also includes a daily Happy Hour.
Reservations: Call the hotel at 1-800-362-2779 to make your reservation; $89.99 price is good until May 20, 2010 when it goes up to $179.00.
Transportation from airport: Hotel has shuttle service to and from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport for $12 each way. You must call 24 hours in advance to reserve the transportation. Call 512-454-8004
Parking: Complimentary. The parking lot is large and well lit. Security cameras are working in the parking lots 24/7 however, it is best not to leave valuables in your vehicle.
Smoking: There is a designated smoking area on the first floor of the hotel and smoking guest rooms are available on the 3rd floor.
Shipping vacuums to the hotel: Use the address listed above and put a line on the address with your name and “Vacuum Convention”. Call the hotel and let them know you plan to ship vacuums. The hotel has daily FEDX deliveries and pickup service.
Amenities: The hotel has a full service restaurant including a bar. Room Service is also available. There is a swimming pool and workout facility. There are local restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle service within a 2 mile radius of the hotel. The hotel is near downtown Austin and the University of Texas. The hotel also has a large gift/snack shop.
Registration: Cost per attendee is $70. Registration fee is good until 5/1/10. Any registrations postmarked past that date are subject to a $25 late fee. No exceptions. Registration fee is the same for everyone even if you may only be able to attend a portion of it.
Important Convention Details:
-12 vacuums is the limit
-Minors may attend but must have parent or custodial adult escort.
-You can check in early but your room may not be ready when you do.
-Guests are welcome as long as their registration fee is paid by the posted time.
-Maps and information regarding thrift, antique, and vacuum stores will be available at convention check-in.
-There will be a vacuum raffle, a for-sale and give away area. Only working vacuums in reasonably good shape (not a fixer upper) will be included in the raffle.
-The Georgetown Vacuum Center (friends of Scott’s and Barb’s) donated a bunch of old vacuum bags and belts; free and will be available at Scott’s house Saturday.

All-Day check-in at the bunkhouse
3 p.m. – Convention coral opens and registration begins
Tidbit snacks will be provided.
Empty your saddlebags and set up vacuum displays.
7 p.m. – “Howdy” & announcements: Trail Boss, Morgan Frazer
7:30 p.m. – Show and Tell time.
Midnight, coral closes for the evening.
Friday, June 4, 2010
8 a.m. – Cow Hands Breakfast
9:30 – 11:30 a.m. – Vacuum clinics to be announced
11:30 – 1 p.m. – Chuck-wagon closed so lunch on your own.
1 – 2 p.m. – Newest Rainbow demonstration by Ken Bashford, Austin Distributor
2 - 4 p.m. – One Sweep & Monster Vacuum Competition
4 - 7:30 p.m. – Open Range, time on your own; coral will be open. Chuck-wagon still closed so dinner on your own.
7:30 – 8:30 p.m. – The new Vacuum Jeopardy Game
8:30-midnight – Vote for your vacuum favorites. Then open range, if you want to hit the town. Coral will be open.
Saturday, June 5, 2010
8 a.m. – Cow Hands Breakfast
9a.m. – Trail Boss meeting; closed to general membership.
10 – 11 a.m. – Cow Hands Membership Meeting
11 – 3 p.m. – Chuck-wagon open & meal provided at Scott & Barb’s (includes travel time)
3 -6 p.m. – Open range to kick off your boots. Coral will be open.
6 – 6:30 p.m. – Cow Hands social time.
6:30 – 9 p.m. – Rainbow Round-up Banquet with special guest speaker.
Awards will be presented at the banquet.
9 – 10 p.m. – Raffle! Coral open until midnight.
